Active Sport 09-10 Rules and Regulations
- The leagues begins w/c 5th October and runs until w/c 7th December. It then restarts w/c 11th January and will conclude w/c 15th March. Teams may not have a match every week, and some weeks are kept spare in case of postponements.
- If teams are unable to fulfil a fixture, the game may only be played if a suitable time is found to play the fixture. If this is not possible then a walkover will go against the postponing team. If your team cannot play for any reason please contact the City Sports Centre as soon as possible on 0191 227 4195 or Coach Lane Sports centre on 0191 215 6575, to allow us to contact the other team.
- Players must be fully paid before their first match, and a team / player will not be permitted to play until this has been paid.
- Once paid, players will be given Active Sport playing cards, these must be shown before each match, and if players do not have cards they will not be allowed to play.
- Each Squad may consist of up to 8/12/16 (depending on league) players. Extra players may only be added to the squad if another player is removed and their playing card returned at the City Sports centre.
- The league will adopt a rolling substitute rule, where by teams may make substitutions as and when they wish, with no limit on the amount of times they do this. The referee must be made aware that a substitution is going to take place.
- Players may only play for 1 team per league. It is not permitted for a player to play for 2 teams in anyone league. Any player found doing so will be ejected from the league with no refund and their team will have to play the rest of their games with only 11 on their squad.
- All communication and information will be made via www.fixtureslive.com and email. Team captains must check this website on a daily basis; especially on match days when captains should be checking the website 2/3 times prior to match K.O. as times and venues may alter at anytime up to K.O.
- Match venue/surface is subject to change; teams should be flexible in their approach. Teams will be informed via the website if the venue/playing surface is to be changed.
- Team Northumbria utilises external referees for its games, therefore it is sometimes out of our control if a referee does not show. In the instance that the referee does not show, each team will select one player to referee half of the match. Referees decision is final and they must be shown respect at all times.
- Red and Yellow cards will be issued; team captains are responsible for checking and ensuring the fine is paid. £2.50 for a yellow and £5 for a red
- If a team is late for the fixture it will be the referees and opposing teams decision if the match is to go ahead. If a team is more than 10 minutes late a 8-0 victory will be awarded to the opposing team. If the opposing team wish to play the fixture then the end match result will stand.
- If both teams do not show then both teams receive zero points.
- Both Captains are responsible for emailing the score to

after every match (including walkovers). If the correct result isn’t given by teams then the result will not be counted and both will loose out.
